Hangar home with special trim features
This beautiful new home enjoys direct runway access through a 40’ x 12’ PowerLift hydraulic door. The hangar features interior trim treatments that have been part of various buildings over the last century including three airplane hangars. The owner and his brother built a hangar back in 1977. Costs were kept low by using wood and steel they salvaged locally. Much of the salvaged wood came from a farm granary that was built in the 1920s and converted into a hangar in the 1950s. While building this new hangar home the owner salvaged and repurposed materials from their 1920s/1950s/1977 hangar. You will notice recovered steel cladding on the interior of the PowerLIft door. Salvaged wood was used to create a faux sliding door as well as for window surrounds and wall design elements. The hangar floor is finished to resemble Red Scoria rock outcroppings found in the area in which the old hangars were located. Your artistry an vision can combine with a PowerLift hydraulic door to create beauty that will be enjoyed by you, your family and succeeding generations long into the future.Hangar home with special trim features
